Chris Grooms, owner and instructor, is a former Airborne Infantry Soldier who has received countless hours in the US Army Combative program. During his time deployed to Iraq, Chris was part of a Task Force that was tasked with kill or capture missions of high value targets of Al Qaeda. While deployed he served as an Infantry fire team leader and Infantry Squad leader. Chris is currently serving as Deputy for the Valley County Sheriff’s Office.
During his time with the sheriff’s office he has attended the Nebraska Basic Law Enforcement Academy, has become a State Certified Firearms Instructor, as well as a Patrol Rifle Instructor. Deputy Grooms has successfully completed the Human Factor Research Group Threat Pattern Recognition Instructor Course (formerly PPCT, Defensive Tactics Instructor), criminal and drug interdiction courses, and is a certified Taser Instructor. He has attended multiple Law Enforcement Sniper courses, and currently serves the Sheriff’s Department as a Certified Sniper.
Our training will help the student realize how dynamic and violent a fight can be. Our classes in firearms training and empty hand defense that is realistic and gets the student away from the square range mindset.
PDTS applies physiology and psychology into our training pipeline by taking a look at the violent situations that have been documented and studied. Using that data, PDTS will help the student gain the knowledge, skills and determination to survive a violent encounter.
Our Empty-Hand courses will run 1 day. We offer individual (private) and group classes. These classes will run for 8 hour sessions, beginning with classroom knowledge and ending with hands-on training.
This will run as a 1 or 2 day course, depending on the clients wants/needs. Sessions will start with classroom work and basic understanding then moving on to hands-on training at the shooting range. Each 1 day session will run for 8 hours. You may choose to register for private instruction or will be placed in a class of no more than 10 individuals.
This will run as a 2 day course. Class will have a morning and afternoon session, first starting with classroom work and basic understanding then moving on to hands-on training at the shooting range. Sessions will run for 8 hours each day. You may choose to register for private instruction or will be placed in a class of no more than 10 individuals.
At the end of each course, you will be awarded a Certificate of Completion
